PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wave absorber and a wave absorbing device using it placed at a harbor entrance area or in a harbor, so that a progressive wave, especially a flow of a long-period wave generated in a big storm, is absorbed so that tranquility in the harbor is enhanced. SOLUTION: The wave absorber 1 is composed of a plurality of wave absorbing members connecting to one another with flexibility as well as water permeability and is suspended in the sea when used. The wave absorbing device is composed of the wave absorber 1 and a floating body 2 which is set afloat on the sea and keeps the wave absorber 1 suspended in the sea. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
