PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating for base coat, capable of forming a base coat with high adhesion to a top coat in high productivity in forming on the base coat the top coat formed from an active energy ray-curable coating. SOLUTION: The coating for forming a base coat for a top coat formed from an active energy ray-curable coating comprises 100 pts. mass of a one-part coating resin with a weight-average molecular weight of 500-200,000 and 0.1-50 pts. mass of a compound having a radical-polymerizable (meth)acryloyl group.
