The bumper arrangement (1) has a tubular element (2) with mutually engaged tubes (6-8) and a displacement body (19) axially frictionally displaced into the inner tube layer after breaking of a preferred break point (13) between the inner and outer pipe layers. The tube element consists of at least two tube layers with their facing surfaces in contact over most of their length. The outer layer is connected to a longitudinal bearer (17). The other end of the inner layer is joined to the adjacent layer by the preferred break point.
