METHOD FOR THE PROTECTION OF A PORTABLE DATA CARRIER

A method for protecting a portable data carrier in which a spurious operation counter (FBZ) is used to ascertaining the number of requests of action of the data carrier and in which fulfillment of an action is only allowed when the FBZ is under a given threshold value (MAX). The FBZ is assigned several actions of the data carrier, in which incrementing of the FBZ during a request of a first action and resetting of the FBZ during a successful fulfillment of a second action follows.
