Method and device for manufacturing a composite part

Production of components made from composites of sintering material and polymer comprises: (A) positioning a component (22) made from sintering material in an injection molding machine comprising upper (14) and lower (12) mold halves and a spring-loaded slide (16, 24); (B) pressing the slide against the component; (C) moving the mold halves together so that the slide is clamped between them and a molding cavity (20) is formed which contains the component; and (D) injecting polymer into the cavity to form the composite component. An independent claim is included for an injection molding machine as described.
