The crystallization-stable alumino-silicate glass contains 50 to 60 % by weight, SiO2; 14 to 25 % by weight, Al2O3; 0 to < 0.5 % BY WEIGHT, B2O3; 0 to 2 % by weight, P2O5; 0 to 7, % by weight, MgO; 5 to 14 % by weight, CaO; 0 to 8 % by weight, SrO; 6 to 18 % by weight BaO and at least 0.01 % by weight MoO3. This type of glass can be used for making lamps, bulbs for halogen lamps; and also for solar collectors, for flat display screens and for pharmaceutical packages in which the glass functions as a UV-protective glass. The method of manufacture involves a refining step. |
