The invention relates to a steam line closing valve for closing a steam line, especially in a steam turbine plant between a first partial turbine and at least one second partial turbine that is operated at a lower pressure than the first partial turbine. According to the invention, the steam line closing valve is subdivided into a plurality of elements that cooperate to cover the cross-section of the steam line, thereby reducing the moment of inertia I_y of the elements.
