A process for refurbishing a worn surface (14,16) of a shroud support component (10) of a turbomachine, as well as a shroud support component (10) refurbished wi th the process. The process generally entails removing a surface region of the worn surface (14,16) so as to define a repair surface (18,20) on the component (10). A braze tape (22,24) formed from a slurry to comprise a braze material and a wear-resista nt alloy is then applied to the repair surface (18,20), followed by a heat treatment to cause the braze tape (22,24) to diffusion bond to the repair surface (18,20) so as to define a built-up surface (26,28). The built-up surface (26,28) is then machined to define a wear-resistant coating (30,32) on the component (10). |
