The invention relates to the ferrous metallurgy, and more particularly to the production of steel being used for making the rod materials for producing load-lifting yokes. The steel contains, % by weight: carbon 0.08-0.22, manganese 0.50-0.85, silicon 0.10-0.40, boron 0.0005-0.006, titanium 0.02-0.10, admixtures of chrome, nickel, copper less than 0.30 of each element, sulphur and phosphorus less than 0.35 of each element, and iron is the rest.
