METHOD FOR IDENTIFYING AN OBJECT

The present invention relates to methods for protecting objects and data against unauthorized access. The proposed method for identifying an object consists in reading the latent identification code of the object, which is applied to the surface of the object or a metallic plate fixed to the object,by laser radiation or an abrasive tool and determining the correspondence of the read code to the specified code. To read the code, acoustic signals are used that are emitted in moving the corresponding sounding element over the surface or the plate with the identification code. The correspondence of the read code to the reference code is determined by the coincidence of the total energy of the acoustic signals that are received by the acoustic transducer to a specified value for the set code. The proposed method provides a possibility to decrease number of errors and enhance reliability in identifying objects.
