The device has electrodes (2, 3) providing a constant contact surface, when a penetration instrument (1) is penetrated. The electrode (3) has a surface that exposes the distal surface of the instrument and remains relatively small with respect to dimensions of a hole in the bony structure. A signalization unit produces a sound signal, when a variation of impedance measured between the electrodes is detected. The frequency and rate of the signal varies with respect to the impedance measured between the electrodes.
