PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system and a method for presenting traffic information allowing a user to recognize a road section corresponding to an abolished VICS link. SOLUTION: Among VICS links 01, 02, and 03 (b1), which are registered in advance, for the VICS link 02 of which the traffic information becomes not to be received by a VICS receiving device 5, when traffic information indicating congestion for the VICS links 01 and 03 and traffic information indicating congestion for VICS links 11, 13 (b2), which are not registered in advance, are repeatedly received, the VICS link 02 of which the traffic information becomes not to be received is estimated to be an abolished VICS link.
