PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image sensor mounting inexpensive rod lens arrays arranged one-dimensionally regardless of long size. SOLUTION: The image sensor comprises a light source for irradiating a document with light, a plurality of rod lens arrays 80 coupled such that rod lenses 81 located at the endmost part of the rod lens array 80 for forming the image of light reflected on the document touch each other, a sealant 85 filling the gap between the rod lenses 81 located at the endmost part, a light receiving element for receiving the light which has formed an image through the rod lens array 80 over a predetermined reading width, and a frame 30 for securing the rod lens arrays 80 arranged continuously through a shock absorbing material 110.
