PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a connected terminal to select a protocol being used between PPPoE and IPoE and also to select a plurality of PPPoE sessions simultaneously. SOLUTION: An IPoE/PPPoE forwarding table 106 registering network address, protocol type, destination IP address being used in IPoE, and search index of PPPoE session is provided, a protocol type is selected depending on a network address on the IPoE/PPPoE forwarding table 106 matching the destination IP address included in the header information of the IP packet of an inputted frame, and the PPPoE session is also selected from a search index corresponding to the network address if the selected protocol type is PPPoE.
