PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a character input/display device that secures the confidentiality of a character string inputted as identification information such as a password, while allowing confirming the inputted character string easily. SOLUTION: The character input/display device includes: an input means for inputting a character string comprising one or a plurality of characters; a conversion means for converting the characters inputted by the input means into predetermined characters; a display means for displaying the predetermined characters provided by the conversion means; and a reverse conversion means for causing at least one of the characters displayed in the display means to be displayed in the display means as the character before conversion by the conversion means.
