PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid marker excellent in erasability, and further in drawing properties. SOLUTION: The solid marker comprises a solidifying agent composed of 12-hydroxystearic acid, a colorant and an oily material hardly volatile at normal temperature. As a solidifying agent a fatty acid amide may be used in combination with 12-hydroxystearic acid. In a preferred aspect, the solid marker comprises an oleophobic solvent hardly volatile at normal temperature and further preferably comprises a body pigment such as a kaolin clay together with the solidifying agent composed of 12-hydroxystearic acid, the colorant and the oily material hardly volatile at normal temperature.
