PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent clogging or the like of nozzle openings or the like by enabling a moisturizing liquid to be fed into a sealing part even in a state with the nozzle openings of a liquid droplet discharging head sealed by a capping device, and also to prevent useless consumption of a liquid and life shortening of the liquid droplet discharging head and a wiper. SOLUTION: There are set the liquid droplet discharging head which has the nozzle openings for discharging a predetermined liquid as liquid droplets at a nozzle formation face, a capping unit which has a capping body 40 for sealing at least the nozzle openings of the liquid droplet discharging head, and a moisturizing liquid feeding means for feeding the moisturizing liquid to the liquid to a space interior formed by the nozzle formation face and the capping body 40. The moisturizing liquid feeding means is equipped with a second communication pipe 54, a second pump 56, a moisturizing liquid tank 58, a residual quantity detecting means 62 and a controller.
