The pump has a curved ring (3) including a free surface (19) at its outside or an axial groove (20) with an asymmetrical cross section. The surface is brought to a mounting position of a gasket (18) and of the curved ring such that a gasket seat (21) is arranged on a pump housing (2) that is near the ring. The surface is arranged in operating position of the ring at a tangential distance to the seat. An independent claim is also included for a method of assembling a curved ring in a Vane pump.
