<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate maintenance and to exactly bring a rear surface of an image forming apparatus main body into contact with a wall surface, etc. in the image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: On the rear surface side of the image forming apparatus main body 10, a controller box 42 in which a controller board (electric circuit board) 50 which controls a mechanism 41 to be controlled stored in the image forming apparatus main body is stored is arranged and the mechanism to be controlled is arranged on the rear surface side of the image forming apparatus main body. Exhaust gas from the image forming apparatus main body is exhausted to the base side of the image forming apparatus, the rear surface side of the the controller box is opened, the controller box is arranged on the rear surface of the image forming apparatus main body so as to cover the mechanism to be controlled and rotatably supported on one side surface end on the rear surface side of the image forming apparatus main body so as to open and close the rear surface of the image forming apparatus main body.
