<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a personal authentication apparatus which not only determines whether or not a user is authenticated but also enables the user to know that the personal authentication apparatus determines that the user is not authenticated, when it is determined. <P>SOLUTION: This personal authentication apparatus determines whether or not the user is authenticated, according to biological information of an authentication object person, and stores the biological information in a storage means when determining that the user is not authenticated. The biological information is transmitted to a control center. Furthermore, an image of the authentication object person is taken by an imaging device, and a position is detected by a position detecting means.
