PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid treatment system which can solve problems of the prior art aiming at a method for developing the function of DNA under a wide range of conditions in applying a DNA material to a water cleaning system based on intercalation properties possessed by DNA and is suitable for utilization in cleaning of water and the like by stably developing an adsorption capacity of double helices.

SOLUTION: A liquid containing a substance to be separated is brought into contact with a double helix DNA supporting phase to support the substance to be separated in the double helix DNA supporting phase to separate the substance from the liquid. In this case, the contact between the double helix DNA and the substance to be separated is carried out in an aqueous medium having a salt concentration of 0.02% by mass.
