<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent decrease in detection sensitivity due to displacement of a sensor head part. <P>SOLUTION: A linearly polarized light, emitted from a light source 200, is transmitted to an EO (electro-optical) crystal 101 of the sensor head part 1 by a polarization holding fiber 3, and the light, polarized and modulated by the EO crystal 101, is transmitted to a signal processing part 2 by an optical fiber 4. After the light, transmitted by the optical fiber 4, is converted into a linearly polarized light by a linearly polarized light generator 201, having a response speed lower than the lower limit value of a frequency of the electric field to be measured, and is separated into an S-polarized light and a P-polarized light by a polarized beam splitter 203, and subjected to photoelectric conversion by photodetectors 204 and 205. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
