<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection device less producing wear between the sliding part of a nozzle needle and the guide part of a nozzle body slidable on each other and capable of preventing fuel leak from increasing with the elapse of time. <P>SOLUTION: This fuel injection device 10 comprises a nozzle body 11 having a jetting hole 41 for jetting a fuel and a nozzle needle 31 opening and closing the jetting hole by reciprocatingly moving in the nozzle body 11. The nozzle needle 31 comprises a sliding member 32 slidably movable in the nozzle body 11, insert parts 34, 35, and 37 smaller in diameter than the sliding part 32, and a pressure receiving part connecting the sliding part 32 to the insert parts 34, 35, and 37. The nozzle body 11 comprises a guide part 12a slidably holding the sliding part 32 and an oil sump chamber 16 formed on the jetting hole 41 side of the guide part 12a and through which the insert parts 34, 35, and 37 are passed.
