<PICT:0834645/III/1> <PICT:0834645/III/2> <PICT:0834645/III/3> <PICT:0834645/III/4> Apparatus for the treatment of liquids com prises an enclosed space having a micro-porous wall 63 forming a membrane, means 47 for injecting gas under pressure into the said enclosed space, an orifice 39 for the introduction of an aqueous treatment liquid into the said enclosed space, means 20 for feeding liquid to be treated to the outer surface of the said micro-porous wall, and a device 22 for discharging the said aqueous liquid and gas from the said enclosed space, this discharge device regulating the pressure in said enclosed space. The unit is made of plastic material, which is preferably transparent and chemically inert. Membranes formed by supports of various materials such as sheets of polyamides, polyethylene, polystyrene, ethyl cellulose may also be employed.
