PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect executable code-free computer files. SOLUTION: In one embodiment, input files are parsed to recognize their file formats (102). If the file formats recognized in order to determine whether executable codes exist within the input files are usable, the contents of the input files are inspected according to the file formats recognized (104).
