PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element with a long life in which deterioration of luminance, generation and growth of a dark spot, and rising of voltage due to element drive are suppressed by improving adhesion between an electrode and an organic membrane and stable light emitting characteristics are sustained for a long period of time. SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescent element comprises a substrate, a first electrode 15 laminated on this substrate, and an organic membrane 17 having a luminous layer and a second electrode laminated in order on this first electrode 14 side, and furthermore a self-organized polymer film 16 which acts adhesively to the first electrode 15 and the organic membrane 17 is installed between the first electrode 15 and the organic membrane 17.
