PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device and method capable of switching videos in a short time. SOLUTION: Input terminals 11a and 11b are connected to an input side of an input switching part 1 which selectively outputs a video signal and signal detection parts 2a and 2b are connected to an output side. To the signal detection parts 2a and 2b, A/D video processing parts 3a and 3b are connected and to the A/D video processing parts 3a and 3b, image processing parts 4a and 4b are connected. Between the image processing parts 4a and 4b and a display part 6, an image composition switching part 5 to which an OSD part 9 is connected and which puts OSD data and a video signal together is provided. Then, provided are the input switching part 1, signal detection parts 2a and 2b, A/D video processing parts 3a and 3b, image processing parts 4a and 4b, image composition switching part 5, display part 6, and a control part 7 which is connected to the OSD part 9 and an operation part 8 and stored with table data for setting the A/D video processing parts 3a and 3b, image processing parts 4a and 4b, and display part 6.
