PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image forming apparatus in which the balance (a difference between the right and the left) of the surface potential of a photoreceptor can be adjusted by a simple operation without using special machine screws. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a first gear member 30 whose axial direction is its adjusting direction, whose upper end 31a abuts on an electrifying device C, and whose peripheral face id formed with a first gear 32a. A second gear member 40 whose axial direction is perpendicular to the adjusting direction A and whose peripheral face is formed with a second gear 40a meshes with the first gear 32a in the direction perpendicular to the adjusting direction A.
