PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely position a molten iron ladle to a prescribed setting position to an impeller by relatively shifting the molten iron ladle below the impeller to a desulfurizing apparatus having the impeller for stirring the molten iron. SOLUTION: A passing-through course of the molten iron ladle 1 when the molten iron ladle 1 is relatively shifted to the direction approaching to the desulfurizing apparatus 2 is detected with detecting sensors 10, 20 shifting together with the desulfurizing apparatus 2 and having mutually different two detecting lines AL1, AL2. Based on the differential information of the relative position of the molten iron ladle 1 to the desulfurizing apparatus 2 when the above two detecting sensors 10, 20 detect, respectively, and each positional information of the detecting lines AL1, AL2, the different amount of place (correcting valueΔL) of the center OP of the molten iron ladle 1 to the prescribed setting position SP is calculated and the center OP of the molten iron ladle 1 is positioned to the prescribed setting position SP by displacing at least one side of the desulfurizing apparatus 2 and the molten iron ladle 1 according to the different amount of place.
