PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device of a small planing boat capable of demonstrating both the expanding/contracting function and a tilting function and realizing these functions by a single integrated mechanism. SOLUTION: A steering column 301 is divided into an upper column 302 and a lower column 303 in a substantially vertical direction, and the upper and lower columns are coupled with each other in a movable manner to each other. A long hole 324 penetrating in the right-to-left direction and extending in the vertical direction is formed in the lower column 303, and a projection in the right-to-left direction which is engaged with the long hole 324 and guided in the vertical direction is provided on the other column. The upper and lower columns 302 and 303 have abutting surfaces 308A and 321A abutted on each other in the longitudinal direction. A plurality of engaging teeth 310 and 322 arranged in the vertical direction are formed on both abutting surfaces, and engaged with each other. The tilt around the projection 312 of the upper column 302 with respect to the lower column 303 is prevented, and the expansion/contraction position of the upper column 302 to the lower column 303 is fixed.
