PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing rod, suppressing a sticky feeling in the vicinity of its reel on manipulating the fishing rod, further increasing a gripping feeling to perform a fishing operation smoothly. SOLUTION: This fishing rod is provided by installing a reel sheet 5 having a reel-loading surface 5b for loading the leg part of the reel R and reel-fixing parts 5a, 5c for fixing the reel loaded on the reel-loading surface 5b at the circumferential surface of a root rod 1. Also at the circumferential surface of the reel sheet 5 of the root rod 1, a plurality of recessed grooves 10a extending in the axial length direction of the root rod 1 are formed in parallel in the circumferential direction, also a plurality of recessed grooves 10b extending in the circumferential direction of the root rod 1 are formed in parallel in the axial length direction, and these recessed grooves 10a extending in the axial length direction cross the recessed grooves 10b extending in the circumferential direction in a lattice form.
