Sheet document, especially suitable for being read in a stack, has upper and lower surfaces and a chip (3) with capacitive electrical contacts integrated in the sheet. The contacts (2a, 2b, 6) are essentially symmetrical with reference to the upper and lower surface of the chip. Thus the contacts on the upper and lower surfaces have essentially the same capacitive coupling characteristics. An independent claim is made for a method for creating contacts for capacitive electrical contacting of a sheet document. The method involves use of a transfer film on which a metal layer, glue layer and film layer are mounted to transfer the contacts to the chip surfaces. A lacquer layer is permanently connected to the metal layer and temporarily connected to the film layer.
