Disclosed is a drug for treating migraine which contains, as an active constituent, a xanthine derivative represented by the formula (I) below or a pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof. (In the formulae, R1, R2 and R3 m ay be the same or different and respectively represent a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl, a lower alkenyl or a lower alkynyl; R4 represents a cycloalkyl, -(CH2 )n- R5 or one represented by the above formula (II); and X1 and X2 may be the sa me or different and respectively represent an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom.)
