<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cable modem and a method for filtering the cable modem by frequency bands by transmitting an upward signal through respective different HPF transmission paths built-in the cable modem and a cable STB. <P>SOLUTION: This cable modem includes a CPU for outputting a control signal to perform different high bandpass filtering according to a frequency band of an upward signal to be transmitted when the upward signal has to be transmitted to an HFC network, a multiple high bandpass filter that includes a plurality of high bandpass filters with different frequencies of a passing band and filter an upward signal to be inputted for each different frequency band on different paths, and a high bandpass filter selecting part for selecting a high bandpass filter among the plurality of high bandpass filters provided in the multiple high bandpass filer according to the control signal so as to make paths through which the upward signal passes different. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
