PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve, in case that a character string (word) image of a specified field is contained in image information that is a processing object, the recognition accuracy of a character string by use of information corresponding to the specified field as dictionary information used for character string recognition without deteriorating a user's operability. SOLUTION: Handler information for a handler of the image information containing the character string image is inputted through a user ID input part 26, and a user dictionary acquisition part 33 acquires specified dictionary information relevant thereto, and a character string recognition part 31 recognizes character string information from the image information by use of the specified dictionary information. Further, a mail transmission part 36 transmits an e-mail with the character string information recognized by the recognition part 31 as text information of the e-mail text and the image information as attached data to a transmitting destination inputted by an address section part 34.
