PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low current consumption type multifunctional magnetic sensor, and a method for detecting movings of various magnets, which are detected by a plurality of magnetic sensors in the prior art, by one sensor using the magnetic sensor of the present invention and the magnet. SOLUTION: This magnetic sensor having a magnetic detecting means, and a signal processing circuit for outputting a binary digital signal in response to a level of a detection signal therein is provided with the first output terminal brought into a high level when the detection signal is smaller than the first threshold value, and brought into a low level in the other case, and the second output terminal brought into a high level when the detection signal is smaller than the second threshold value different in a sign from that of the first threshold value, and brought into a low level in the other case.
