PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating composition forming an improved coating film. SOLUTION: The invention provides the composition comprising (A) a film-forming binder, (B) a polyisocyanate, (C) a catalyst and (D) a carrier, wherein the component (A) contains an acrylic polymer containing hydroxy groups and a polyol, and the polyol is prepared by reacting a polyhydroxy-tertiary amine with the polyisocyanate in which the polyhydroxy-tertiary amine has at least two of the hydroxy groups of said amine being indirectly bonded to a nitrogen atom of said amine through a molecular chain containing at least two carbon atoms, and essentially all the isocyanate groups of said polyisocyanate being reacted with hydroxy groups of said amine.
