AZO DYE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an azo dye having a new structure which has good hue and light fastness and a high spectral absorption coefficient. SOLUTION: The azo dye is expressed by general formula (1). In general formula (1), R1is an aliphatic group, an aryl group, a hetero ring group, an acyl group, an aliphatic oxycarbonyl group, an aryloxycarbonyl group, a carbamoyl group, an aliphatic sulfonyl group, an arylsulfonyl group, or a sulfamoyl group, R2is a hydrogen atom or a substituent, X1is a -CR3= or a nitrogen atom, B1is a -CR4= or a nitrogen atom, B2is a -CR5= or a nitrogen atom, but B1and B2are not simultaneously nitrogen atoms, R3, R4and R5are each independently a hydrogen atom or a substituent, G1and G2are each independently a hydrogen atom or a substituent, R1and R2, R2and R3, R4and R5, as well as R5and G2may mutually be bound to form a 5-7 membered ring.
