PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new arylamine polymer useful as a polymer material for an organic thin-film EL element having excellent light-emitting performance and excellent durability, a polymer material for an active layer of an organic transistor or an organic electronics such as a material for electrophotographic receptor. SOLUTION: The dialdehyde compound is expressed by general formula (I) (R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>, R<SP>3</SP>and R<SP>4</SP>are each independently a halogen atom or a group selected from straight or branched-chain alkyl, alkoxyl and alkylthio groups; x, y, z and w are each independently an integer of 0-4; when the compound has two or more R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>, R<SP>3</SP>or R<SP>4</SP>groups, these groups may be the same or different; and B is a monocyclic, non-condensed polycyclic or polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon group).
