PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst coating method capable of preventing closure of a slit hole by a slurry. SOLUTION: This method is a catalyst coating method onto a catalyst carrier 1 made of a metal in which a corrugation plate 11 of a thin plate and a flat plate 12 are alternately wound in a plurality to form a cell passage passing exhaust gas between the respective corrugation plates 11 and the flat plates 11 and a plurality of slit holes 11a, 12a are formed on the corrugation plates 11 and the flat plates 12. The catalyst carrier is vibrated before the slurry deposited on the surfaces of the corrugation plate and the flat plates is dried and solidified by passing the slurry mixed with a catalyst component in the cell passage.
