An iron golf club head (20) having a hollow interior (48). The iron golf club head (20) is formed from a first casing (60) and a second casing (70). The first casing (60) includes a hosel (38) and strike face (22), while the second casing (70) includes the sole (42), the back side (32), and the topline (40) of the iron golf club head (20). The second casing (70) also includes two cavities (72,74), one of which forms the hollow interior (48) of the iron golf club head (20) when the first casing (60) is welded to the second casing (70). The thickness and hardness of the first casing (60) vary between the long and short iron golf club heads.
