<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor and image processing method capable of multiplexing maximum additional information in an image in addition to minimizing the deterioration of image quality and restoring stable additional information even when the image is printed on paper. <P>SOLUTION: This image processor combines additional image data based on the additional information being an embedment target with image data being a processing target to generate combined image data. A control part 11 calculates the amount of predetermined features from the image data, determines an encoding method to be applied to the additional information on the basis of the amount of predetermined features, an image size and an allowable error rate and uses the determined encoding method to encode the additional information, multiplexing the additional information into image data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
