<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preparation for the oral cavity, carefree of side effects, having antibacterial activity against hemolytic streptococcus (Streptococcus pyogenes) as throat inflammation-causing bacterium and inhibitory activity against hemolytic toxin (streptolysin O), effectively acting on infectious diseases such as throat inflammation and purulent diseases and widely usable for adding to food products. <P>SOLUTION: The preparation for the oral cavity contains an extract extracted from fruits of Chinese quince by using a 50-100% aqueous solution of a lower alcohol, acetone, ethyl acetate, n-hexane, a mixed solvent of two or more thereof, or a triterpene derivative extracted from the extract. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
