<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which the rotational speed of a polygon motor is effectively varied in accordance with the rotational speed of a cooling fan and thereby the noise of a motor is reduced. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has a function of variably controlling the rotational speed of the cooling fan according to the condition of the image forming apparatus, modulates a laser beam by a required image signal outputted from an image signal generation means, and records an image by deflecting the modulated laser beam with a polygon mirror and scanning a plane to be scanned with the deflected laser beam, wherein a control means which controls the rotation of the motor rotationally driving the polygon mirror for scanning the plane to be scanned with the laser beam, variably controls the rotational speed of the motor linked with the rotational speed of the cooling fan. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
