<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital protecting and control system that can perform transmission operation with a transmission delay time for one facing line, using a smaller number of transmission lines. <P>SOLUTION: This electric power protecting and control system to which at least one of electric power protecting and control devices is connected via a transmission line has a plurality of multiplexing and separating devices connected to one another via a digital network to exchange data among the protecting and control devices. The protecting and control devices have multiplexing and separating portions that multiplex data in a predetermined channel of a 2M transmission frame of the same format with a 8M transmission frame and that separate data of the predetermined channel of the 2M transmission frame.
