<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dual-mode display apparatus and a display method, in which the configuration of a display drive circuit is simplified and the adjustment of a display-mode switching voltage is facilitated. <P>SOLUTION: The dual mode display element is used as a display element of a display panel. At an address line drive circuit side of the display panel for matrix-driving the dual-mode display element, a display mode switching means is provided, in series with a scanning selecting switch of an address line.
