<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printed matter capable of ensuring a high security. <P>SOLUTION: In the printed matter 1 in which a face image 2 being a multiple value image, a letter 3 and a pattern 4 are respectively printed, the face image 2 is printed by embedding the pattern 4 printed on the printed matter 1 as a binary image 5 so as to be hardly perceived by a human being. In addition, on the image printed on the printer matter 1, a hologram pattern 6 is provided as an optical security pattern.
