PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of attaching a fluid container to a fluid ejector in a fluid ejection device. SOLUTION: A fluid container containing at least one heat stake, a fluid ejector and a substrate are aligned in this order. The substrate contains at least one aperture and at least one three-dimensional feature part arranged adjacent to the aperture. The aligned fluid container, fluid ejector and substrate are respectively brought into contact, and pressure is applied to the aligned fluid container, fluid ejector and substrate so that at least one heat stake is inserted into at least one aperture. Thermal energy is applied to the heat stake so that at least one heat stake is deformed to fill up at least one aperture and at least one three-dimensional feature part, at least partially.
