PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method which can makeα-blending processing among plural sprites or line display data and the image data stored in a display buffer, and thus improve the image display performance than those of prior art. SOLUTION: This image processing method, sequentially reads the display attribute data set on each of the 0th to 6th display layers of a layer-setting table 15a and generates the 0th to 6th display data, on the basis of the read display attribute data, to sequentially overwrite in the display buffer memory, then display the images by reading the data in the display buffer memory. When the display attribute data for the lines on a layer #2 is set, for example, and when forming display data for the lines on the same layer to write in the display buffer memory, writing of the data on the basis of first come first served, where each the lines overlap each other.
