PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control signal discrimination method for detecting crush of a pulse signal of high level or a pulse signal low level, which should originally exist in a received remote control signal, in order not to recognize a bit signal of the remote control signal incorrectly. SOLUTION: The method detects variance in a logical level of a pulse signal of a remote control signal. If variance in the logical level of the pulse signal of the remote control signal is detected, the method discriminates a bit signal of the remote control signal, based on a detected pulse period and a detected pulse width of the pulse signal of the remote control signal.
